Ballard’s Budget Explanation
As the Democratic Indianapolis City-County Council prepares to attempt tonight an override of Mayor Greg Ballard’s line-item budget vetoes, the Mayor says he is sticking by his guns saying he has attempted to negotiate with good-faith with the Council and he blames them for lack of a budget agreement.
The Mayor vetoed nearly $32 million in county general funds as well as the Council’s budget for service contracts. Democrats called move political bullying.
