Indy Star: Council Fails to Override Ballard Budget Vetoes
Separate votes Thursday by the City-County Council and Indianapolis’ sports and convention board did little to settle the partisan turmoil surrounding next year’s budget. The council’s majority Democrats failed to muster the supermajority needed to override several line-item vetoes by Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, a Republican, in the nearly $1.1 billion city/county budget.
