The fiscal conservative group Americans for Prosperity is getting involved in Indiana politics and one of their main goals is to push Governor Mike Pence’s 10% income tax cut.
Indiana Director Chase Downham says the organization is engaging in a grassroots effort to push the tax cut proposal.
It was not included in the budget plan proposed by House Republicans.
Downham says in addition to going the traditional route they are organizing Hoosiers from across the state to contact their state lawmakers to pass the tax cut.
In addition to the Pence tax cut, Downham says they pushing against the tax for mass transit as well as the “wheel tax” which local governments can use for road projects.
