Despite their “super minority” status, Indiana House Democrats say they are offering an agenda this legislative session that will help the middle class and restore the public’s trust in government.

House Democratic Leader Scott Pelath this morning said raising wages, ethics reform and giving all Hoosiers access to a quality education are their priorities.  He called them an alternative to the Republican agenda.

Pelath’s list of priorities also included…

  • Eliminating the textbook fee on Hoosier families.
  • An independent redistricting commission.
  • Increased focus on early childhood education.

Pelath said they plan to partner with Republicans when they can and said his party doesn’t mind if the GOP takes Democrat ideas and labels them as their own.
